***Wednesday, August 27th, 2025 @ Nightclub 101 in New York, NY***

On Wednesday, I attended the inaugural Reading 101, a new reading series hosted by Alexis Nowicki and Maria Robins-Sommerville. The reading took place in the lower-level of Nightclub 101 in the East Village, and it was awesome. Above us, in the main room, IDLES were playing a semi-secret show in the 300-cap room.

After the reading, I snuck into the show right as the band ripped into “Mother,” an undeniable song. I pushed my way to the front and shouted along to cuts from the bands first two LPs, plus their contribution to the new Darren Aronofsky movie, Caught Stealing. It was a sweaty, emphatic show, the band’s stage presence is unparalleled, and I had a blast.
