Frequently Asked Questions
What does Swim Into The Sound Mean?
Swim Into The Sound is a minor twist on a lyric from a Valient Thorr song called "Intermission: Thesis of Infinite Measure." I wrote in-depth about my experience with that song and what it means to me in this post, but I also think it's just an evocative phrase that depicts an immersive way to interact with music.
Can I send you my music?
You sure can! You can email me streams, downloads, links, or videos at swimintothesound@gmail.com. There are also a variety of ways to connect with the blog listed on our contact page. I can't promise a review, coverage, or even a response, but I try to listen to pay attention to everything that gets sent my way. If you send music, downloads are preferred, I’m a nerd who still loads MP3 files
What kind of music do you like?
I try to stay open-minded. I was born in the 90’s, so I was brought up listening to pop-punk, got into classic rock, then alternative, then metal, then indie, then hip-hop. That’s probably the shortest version of my music history, and obviously a lot happened in between. If you would like to see what I’m listening to right now, you can connect on last.fm or Spotify. Alternatively, if you’d like to see a list of my all-time favorite records, you can check out this page to see 150 of my essential albums.
Do you have any swag?
We do! Stickers that I can I can send ya for free, plus some shirts and tote bags for sale. There’s also a Smoke Into The Sound Lighter that I can only hand-deliver to you because of shipping laws.
