Mixtape #13 - Sequel Songs

I love a good sequel, and I’m not talking Marvel Slop big-budget bullshit, I mean in music. Perhaps the most famous example is “Synchronicity I” and “Synchronicity II” by The Police, but breaking an idea or motif out across multiple songs is one of my favorite nerdy things for a band to do. Sometimes it’s just a series of instrumental interludes, sometimes the series spans across multiple years and releases – a way to reward longtime fans for their loyalty and close listening. Sometimes they’re barely even connected, but in any case, it’s always a novel experience to listen to these songs in their intended sequence, and I’ve had a good time collecting them in this playlist.
